The Shortcut

by Darker

Anna was already running late, and she knew that Mrs. Harrison would give her hell if she was late for her piano lessons. Fortunately Anna knew a shortcut through the park. Her mother had told her not to go through the park after those girls had been found dead there, but Anna was really late and the sun was shining. The park would be full of people. Nothing would happen.

Still, Anna’s heart was beating a little bit harder than usual, as she stepped off the walking path and went into the woods – a shortcut that would save her at least two precious minutes. Mrs. Harrison could be quite severe. Nothing would happen. Anna jumped as she heard a branch snap behind her. She spun around. There was nothing there. She felt foolish for being so damn paranoid – nothing happened at two in the afternoon in a sunlit park!

“Hi there. Have you got a moment?” – Anna’s heart stopped when she heard the voice behind her. No, she wouldn’t be afraid. Of course it was just someone else taking a shortcut.

“Sorry, but I’m kind of busy.” She said, even before she had turned her head. Then the speaker panned into view. A short, fatty guy in a gray jogging suit – and a gun in his hand, aimed straight at her!

“I think you have a bit of time, precious.” The man said and smiled. He had a round face, small beady eyes, bald head and a thick, black beard. He was nothing special. If it hadn’t been for the gun in his hands, and the odd place that he had appeared, Anna would never even have noticed him.

“I… I really must be going.” Anna stammered and took a few steps away from the man.

“Stop or I shoot you dead.” The man said, matter of fact. Anna’s heart was now pounding like a drum – she just hoped that it wasn’t the guy who had killed those girls – maybe he was just some lonely pervert that needed a bit of company?

“OK, if you insist.” She replied.

“What’s your name, precious?” He asked and moved a bit closer. He was only ten feet away now. There was no chance that he would miss if she made a dash for it. She just had to play along and hope and pray that he had no ill intentions.

“I’m Anna. I have piano lessons at two o’clock.” She said, biting her lip to keep it from trembling. “I really must get going. I’m sorry, Sir.”

“You’re not going anywhere, Anna. You get down on your knees and take your clothes off right now.” The main said, then adding with a firm edge to his voice. “And if you scream, I’ll shoot you dead on the fucking spot.”

Anna could barely believe that it was happening! It was surreal! The sun was shining above her, and she could hear children play only a few hundred feet away, and here she was, starring down the barrel of a gun!

“Get to it, bitch. I also don’t have all day!” The man hissed. Anna swallowed hard and lowered herself onto her knees. The man nodded and waved the gun suggestively. Anna unbuttoned her shirt.

“Sir, I’m begging you; I’m only 18 years old. Please don’t hurt me.” Anna sobbed, now unable to hold back the tears that had been gathering at the corners of her eyes. She hated herself for crying, but she just couldn’t help it.

“I promise that what I’m going to do to you won’t hurt at all.” The man said, but the message didn’t calm Anna down – there was something to his voice and eyes that scared the shit out of her. “Now take the shirt off all the way, and that ridiculous tie too.”

“Yes, Sir. Those girls… last week… that wasn’t you, was it?” Anna sobbed as she removed the specified items of clothing. The sun tickled her skin, but still she felt cold like an icicle.

“You got guts, girl.” The man laughed. “I know that question has been buzzing through your young mind, ever since you heard my voice. Most people girl wouldn’t have the balls to ask, as they would fear the answer too much.”

“Sir? Are you?” Anna insisted, though her heart felt like it would burst through her chest.

“Yes, it was me. I killed them, and I’m going to kill you too.” The man laughed. “I figured you wouldn’t like the answer, but there you are.”

Anna felt a violent shock rip through her, as if she had been struck by lightning. Then she froze up. She couldn’t move. She hardly even dared to breathe. It couldn’t be true. He couldn’t just have told her that she was going to die!

“Don’t just sit there, Anna. Get that skirt off.” The man said and waved the gun in front of her face.

“Yes, Sir.” Anna whimpered. It was all she could say. She had no idea what else to do!

“Nice. You have a beautiful young body, Anna.” The man said as Anna struggled out of her clothes. Maybe that was her chance, she thought, maybe she still had some hope!

“Do you like me, Sir?” She managed, in spite of the hard ball of fear that had gathered in her stomach.

“Yes, I like you a lot, Anna. You are a very beautiful, sexy girl, Anna.” The man said, his voice now softer than before. Anna forced a weak smile.

“If you let me go, I’ll do anything you want, Sir.” She offered, silently praying to God that he would take her up on the offer – not because she was a slut, but she really, really didn’t to die. “I can give you so much pleasure, and I won’t say a word to anyone. It will be our little secret!”

“You are right in saying that you will give me much pleasure, and you sure as hell won’t say a word to anyone.” The man said and smiled - a cold, greedy smile, Anna thought. Then he burst into laughter. “Give it up, Anna. There is nothing that you can say or do to change my mind. It’s not your fault. You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

“But that doesn’t help me much, does it? I’m 18 years old, for Christ’s sake. I have so much living left to do!” Anna sobbed, as she felt a dam of emotions burst inside her. “Besides, it is my own fault. I knew I shouldn’t take a shortcut in the park. My mother told me! Damn, my mother told me!”

“You poor, poor thing. Well, let’s not postpone the inevitable any longer. It will only extend your suffering. The sooner we get it over with, the sooner your fear will end.” The man said and stepped up to her, holding the gun only inched from her face. Oh dear God, it’s happening, it’s really happening, Anna thought and felt the hard ball of fear in her stomach explode in a hail of sharp panic.

“No, Sir, please wait, please, please, please!” Anna sobbed – she had to buy time – maybe someone had heard them, maybe someone else would take the shortcut. Maybe someone would save her, if only she had a few more minutes.

“What?” The man said and eased the tension in his trigger finger – a finger that had already started pressing the trigger back, the trigger of the gun that he held only inches from her face!

“Sir, at least tell me why I have to die.” Anna managed to keep her voice relatively calm, though the panic still pumped though her, making her whole body tremble.

“You’re just trying to buy time, Anna, You are not a stupid girl.” The man said and smiled again. “You know that someone might come, either by accident or because they have heard your pathetic sobbing. Still, I think it’s fair enough that you know why your life is about to end. After all, you might have had some 50 or 60 years of life left, if I didn’t choose to snuff you out. Unfortunately for you, I rather enjoy killing young women. It gives me a great feeling of satisfaction. I’m sure you don’t understand, but that’s the way it is. Now, get ready.”

“But Sir, that’s sick!” Anna sobbed. “I’m a living human being. I have rights. You can’t just kill me because you enjoy it!”

“I can and I will my precious little doll.” The man laughed. “Now I’m going to count down from ten. When I reach zero, I’ll blow your brains out. If you want to end it faster, you just try and scream. Here we go. 10!”

“Sir, no, stop it.” Anna yammered, hoping and praying that someone was on his or her way down the small dirt path. Surely it could not end this way. It would be too stupid, too meaningless!

“9” The man continued.

What should she do? If she screamed, he would surely kill her – but she only had nine seconds left!

“8” The man said, chopping another second off her life.

Was anyone on the way? Dared she wait? Or should she scream right now and home that he missed? The gun was only inches from her head! She knew that she had to act fast, but she just didn’t know what to do!

“7”

“Sir, please, I don’t want to die!” Anna sobbed. She felt like her brain was about to do a meltdown. It was like she was at an exam and she had just gone blank! Why didn’t she know what to do?

“6”

“You can’t do it! I never did anything to anyone. Sir, please stop! Please?!” Anna cried, raising her voice as much as she dared – she saw the man tighten his trigger finger – was this the end?

“5” The man said - without pulling the trigger.

Anna drew a sigh of relief. At least her raised voice hadn’t earned her death. At least she had time – precious little time!

“4”

“Fuck you, you bastard, how dare you do this to me?!” Anna hissed, her frustration now greater than her fear. “You have no right. You have no right!”

“3”

“Oh God, please, help me. Help me. Help me!” Anna screamed, slowly raising her voice – maybe it would throw him off guard, maybe he wouldn’t know when to shoot. She had to take a chance, she had to, God help her. “Help me! Help me!! Help me!!! HEL…”

*THUD*

Greg loved the shrill sound of the bitch’s fearful voice, but she was becoming to loud, so he had to snuff her out. The bullet crashed into her skull, ripped through her brain and burst out the other side. Her sweet, young body twitched and then fell face-down on the small dirt path.

Gerg stood perfectly still and listened. There was complete silence, save for the distant sounds of kids playing in the park, and the even more distant hum of city traffic. No one had heard her, no one was on the way. They were alone.

“That didn’t hurt at all, did it, my darling girl?” He whispered as he knelt down besides her, enjoying the fresh smell of her young body. He kissed her warm back. The skin felt wonderful against his lips. He crawled on top of her, unzipped his pants and kicked her legs apart. Then he lowered himself down on her, pushing his throbbing cock into her sweet, tight, yielding ass.
